The University of Houston Moores School of Music is presenting a gala concert performance of Puccini’s masterpiece Turandot featuring guest artists soprano Christine Goerke and tenor Limmie Pulliam.

Thomas Søndergård, known for his skill in leading opera, now brings to the Twin Cities the high drama of Puccini’s Turandot, which features the emotionally-riveting aria “Nessun Dorma.” The cast is headlined by star soprano Christine Goerke in the title role.

Christine Goerke will sing the role of Marie in Wozzeck with the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester, NDR Vokalensemble, and Hamburger Alsterspatzen under the baton of Alan Gilbert.

The Metropolitan Opera has commissioned composer Missy Mazzoli and librettist Royce Vavrek to create an operatic adaptation of George Saunders’ Booker Prize-winning novel "Lincoln in the Bardo." Christine Goerke joins the cast to sing the role of The Reverend, which was written specially for her.
